Sylvie Talks About Keeping Your Skin Glowing During The Festive Season

Sylvie has just hosted her second live Q&A in our evergrowing Beauty Circle community!

This time, she's answered all the questions about keeping your skin glowing during the festive season plus shared what the ultimate Holiday and Summer travel must-haves are!

So if you'd like to learn more about Christmas skincare and how to look radiant throughout the entire Holiday season, keep reading!

Question 1: What skincare products should I bring with me when travelling during the Holidays?

My number one product when travelling in Summer is sunscreen and then a cleanser. I prefer a sunblock over chemicals, and I'd bring our Super Fruit Wash-Off Cleanser because it's a wash-off, so it breaks down the zinc from the sunscreen and everything else much easier to clean the skin.

I'd also pack a Vitamin C serum. We have Vitamin C Brightening Serum with Kakadu Plum, Turmeric & Rosehip and Skin Perfecting Radiance Gel with Lilli Pilli, Licorice, Emu Apple and Vitamin C, and either of those are excellent.

The reason I recommend this is because Vitamin C is great for irritation that you might get from the sun, being on the road, etc. You can even put it on a mosquito bite to calm the itching down or on eczema flare-ups!

I'd also take our Balance & Replenish Light Moisturiser with Calendula, Red Mandarin & Pumpkin because it's light, moisturising, and doesn't clog pores. You want to switch from heavy cream to a light moisturiser in the warmer seasons.

Lastly, I'm pretty big on lip balm, so I'd take that too.

Question 2: How to effectively hydrate dry skin during the Holiday season and in summer in general?

When it comes to the holiday season  and Summer skincare for dry skin, you should switch to a lighter moisturiser and foundation (go from cream to fluid) and include Vitamin C and Cell Renewal Peptide serums in the regimen.

To get more hydration from my foundation, I like adding a drop of Six Oils of Rejuvenation when applying.

But one of the biggest things I'd recommend is to start with a great cleansing routine in the morning and the evening.

Cleansing and exfoliation

Cleansing well helps lift any dead skin and helps your skin regenerate.

In the morning, it's enough to use a gentle cleanser like Daily Revitalise Cleansing Crème. In the evening use a wash-off.

I also recommend introducing exfoliation 1-2 times a week. To get great results and still be gentle with your skin, I recommend our Skin Therapy Glow System with silicone bristles that don't damage the skin. It's soft, but when you use the vibration setting, it lifts and shakes the skin, gets rid of dirt which can contribute to clogged skin and acne.  It helps to refine and detox the skin making it much clearer.

You can use it in the shower and it also comes with a travel pouch that's great for your Holiday travels.

Question 3: How can I take care of my neck too?

Take all the products you are applying to your face all the way down your neck and decolletage!

You can also use the Skin Therapy Glow System (or your fingers) to massage your serums and oils onto your face, neck and chest.

The system has thermal heating on the rose quartz side, and it gives the best results when used 2-3 times a week.

Question 4: How can I reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes?

One of my main tips for your festive skincare and reducing puffiness is getting a good night's sleep (I know it's hard during Holidays!). When sleeping, you should raise your pillow, so your head's not too flat.

I also suggest applying cold packs, camomile tea bags, cucumber slices or our glow system quartz cold onto the eyes. Also, don't forget to stay well hydrated!

When it comes to skincare, I recommend our Relax + Refine + Lift Eye & Lip Crème With Bauchiol, Acmella & Quandong. Bakuchiol is a natural form of Retinol, and Acmella is often referred to as nature's Botox.

Lastly, you can disguise dark circles with a good concealer and good foundation!
